Furnishing a Home
Furnishing a home is both exciting and challenging. Generally we start out with basic pieces that serve specific functions like a table and chairs in the kitchen, bed and dresser in a bedroom, in a home office a desk, chair and bookcase, and the living room typically starts with a sofa, table and these days, some type of entertainment center to hold the TV and other electronics.

Setting Up an Office
Buying furniture can be an adventure whether you’re visiting a store or shopping online. It is best to make a list of what you need to buy before shopping. Take measurements so you know the right size, bring color swatches if you need to match paint colors or window treatments and pictures can also be helpful if you don’t find it easy to visualize a new piece of furnitrue in the room where it will go. We don’t have any articles yet but here are some photos from a recent trip to IKEA.
Organization and Storage
Organized Closet
Americans love to buy and hold onto stuff! We’re all guilty, although each of us collects different stuff related to what we’re passionate about. Some people love cook books, books about travel (that’s me) or maybe you like sci fi? Collecting is fine as long as you’re able to find what you own, when you want it.
That’s where the problem lies. Often we collect so much that we can’t find things we own, so we buy a duplicate because we need it today and that’s wasteful. Here we’ll share ideas of where to find more space and/or get organized using the space you have … so next time you can find that book or sweater.

Playing with the Dog
When you need some more space or simply want a change of scenery, moving outdoors might be the perfect answer. Children love the outdoors as they can make noise and run freely without worrying about breaking something. Adults enjoy getting outside too, as they’re able to get away from reminders of work undone and stretch their eyes up towards the sky, across the field behind the house or the beautiful flowers beginning to open.
